Lupus is a chronic disease of the autoimmune system. Instead of the immune system fighting against threats to the body from foreign agents, it turns against the body itself and begins to destroy healthy tissue.
The symptoms of Lupus are quite varied and include:
- Inflammation, characterized by swelling, redness pain and sometimes heat
- Skin lesions, rash, redness, sores, hives

- Blood in the urine
- Hair loss
